Kelly Armstrong became North Dakota’s 34th governor on Dec. 15, 2024, bringing experience in business, law, and public service. A lifelong North Dakotan from Dickinson, he previously represented the state in the U.S. House after his 2018 election, where he focused on energy independence, agriculture, and fiscal policy. He served on the House Judiciary and Energy and Commerce committees. Armstrong also spent time in the North Dakota Senate, leading infrastructure investment and DUI reform efforts, and chaired the state Republican Party. He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of North Dakota and lives with his wife and two children.
